Student living in the creative heart of Norwich. The NUA campus sits right in the city centre, so home is never far from the studio.
Norwich University of the Arts is not a campus on the edge of town: its studios and workshops cluster around St George’s Street, right in the middle of the city. Renting near NUA means living in the centre of Norwich itself, with everything that brings.
Most NUA students look north of the campus, across the Wensum in NR3: the terraces off Magdalen Street and Silver Road are a short walk from the studios and traditionally the best value in the city. Others choose flats and house shares in the centre itself or towards the Golden Triangle, sharing streets with UEA students and young professionals.
The neighbourhood is the city’s creative quarter. Norwich Lanes, St Benedicts and Magdalen Street are packed with vintage shops, galleries, record stores, cafes and venues, and the market and both shopping centres are minutes from the front door.
Living this central, most students do everything on foot or by bike, and lectures are rarely more than a fifteen minute walk away. Norwich bus station and the railway station are both close for trips home, and night buses and taxis are easy when you need them.
Everything the city offers is effectively campus: supermarkets on Magdalen Street and in the centre, the market for cheap eats, Cinema City around the corner from the studios, and more independent coffee than any student could need. The riverside walks along the Wensum are the reset button between deadlines.
Student homes near NUA range from two bedroom flats to six bedroom shares, mostly in the terraces of NR3 and the streets around the centre.
