Finding a home matters to everyone, so this site is built to be usable by everyone. Here is what we do, and how to tell us when we fall short.
This statement applies to the Carvels Lettings website. We want as many people as possible to be able to browse properties, read our guides and contact us, whatever technology they use. Last updated 20 July 2026.
The site is built with semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate it, and text is real text rather than pictures of text, so it can be resized in your browser without breaking the layout. Interactive elements, including our custom dropdown menus, can be operated with a keyboard, images that convey information carry alternative text, and colour is never the only way information is communicated. The site offers both a light and a dark theme, remembers your choice, and respects your device’s reduced motion setting by switching off decorative animation. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Some parts of the site rely on third-party services we do not control: the interactive property map, video players for property tours, and documents such as floor plans and energy certificates supplied by landlords, which are sometimes images or PDFs without full text alternatives. If any of these blocks you from information you need, contact us and we will provide it in a format that works for you.
If you find any part of this site hard to use, or you need property details, our guides or our forms in another format, such as large print or plain email, please tell us. Call 01603 435644 or email info@carvels.co.uk and we will do our best to help promptly. Honest reports of problems genuinely help us improve the site for everyone.
If you contact us about accessibility and are unhappy with our response, you can use our complaints procedure. The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the accessibility of services in Great Britain under the Equality Act 2010, and the Equality Advisory and Support Service can advise you if you believe a service has discriminated against you.
